Emma decided to found Resurgam Footy Fans after continuing to get frustrated by looking up scores and schedules for the women’s game. The idea had been in her mind for a while when she went to look up the time for the first leg of Manchester United v PSG in the Champions League in 2023. Not only did google not have the time connected to the game the location was for the Manchester City Stadium not Manchester United. It was at that point that Emma decided to take matter into her own hands.

What started as an idea for an app that specialized in scores and schedules for the women’s game has turned into a place to find resources for all aspects of the game. New fans are coming to women's football every day and it can be a complicated and difficult environment to navigate. The goal of Resurgam Footy Fans is to give fans one place to find the information and connection they seek as women’s football fans. Created by fans for fans.

Emma is originally from the greater Portland Maine area in the US. The name Resurgam is inspired in part by Portland as Resurgam is the motto of the city. It was also chosen because it mean “to rise,” or “to rise again.” That feels like a perfect name for something connected to women's football which has had to continually rise again.
